Moroccan Mahnacha Cookies – Stuffed Almond Pastry Delight

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • ¾ cup butter, softened

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

  • Milk as needed

Filling:

  • 1 cup ground almonds

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp orange blossom water


Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and butter until crumbly. Add egg and vanilla, then a little milk to form a soft dough. Rest 30 minutes.

  2. Combine all filling ingredients until smooth.

  3. Roll dough thin, cut into shapes, add filling, and seal.

  4. Bake at 180°C / 350°F for 20–25 minutes until lightly golden.

  5. Cool and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
