🍫 Homemade Moroccan Chocolate (Chocolat Marocain Maison)



Moroccan homemade chocolate is a simple yet rich treat, often made with almonds, cocoa, and sometimes flavored with orange blossom water or cinnamon. It’s popular during Ramadan, Eid, or family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate or cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup butter or coconut oil

  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds or other nuts

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or orange blossom water

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

1️⃣ Melt chocolate and butter

  • In a double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth.

2️⃣ Mix sugar and flavoring

  • Add sugar, vanilla extract (or orange blossom water), and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

3️⃣ Add nuts

  • Stir in the chopped almonds (or other nuts) evenly into the chocolate mixture.

4️⃣ Pour into molds

  • Pour the chocolate mixture into small molds or a lined tray.

  • Flatten and smooth the top with a spatula.

5️⃣ Chill

  • Refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.

6️⃣ Serve

  • Cut into squares or remove from molds and enjoy.

  • Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted white chocolate for decoration
