🥞 Sweet Moroccan Mlaoui (Layered Sweet Pancake)
Mlaoui is a traditional Moroccan layered pastry, similar to Msemen but softer and flakier, often served sweet with honey or sugar at breakfast, tea time, or during Ramadan.
🌾 Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup fine semolina

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm water (adjust as needed)

4 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil (for dough)

Extra butter or oil for layering and folding

Honey, powdered sugar, or jam for serving

1️⃣ Prepare the dough

In a large bowl, mix flour, semolina, and salt.

Gradually add warm water while kneading until you get a soft, elastic dough.

Cover and let rest 15–20 minutes.
2️⃣ Divide and flatten

Divide the dough into small balls (golf ball size).

Roll each ball into a thin, large circle.
3️⃣ Layering

Brush the surface with melted butter or oil.

Fold edges inward or roll to form layers, creating a spiral or square shape.
4️⃣ Cook

Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat.

Cook each Mlaoui 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
5️⃣ Serve sweet

Serve warm with honey, powdered sugar, or jam
