These elegant mini almond tarts are popular in Moroccan wedding trays — buttery crust with a soft almond cream filling, often glazed for shine.


🥧 Ingredients

For the tart dough (shortcrust):

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)

  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Pinch of salt

🌰 Almond filling:

  • 1 cup finely ground almonds (almond flour)

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1/4 cup softened butter

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or orange blossom water

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (optional, for lighter texture)

✨ Decoration (optional):

  • Whole almonds or sliced almonds

  • Apricot jam or honey (for glaze)


👩‍🍳 Instructions



1️⃣ Make the dough

  • Mix flour, sugar, and salt.

  • Rub in cold butter until crumbly.

  • Add egg and vanilla.

  • Mix just until dough forms.

  • Wrap and chill 20–30 minutes.

2️⃣ Prepare almond filling

  • Mix ground almonds, powdered sugar, butter, egg, and flavoring until smooth cream forms.

3️⃣ Shape the tart shells

  • Roll dough thin.

  • Cut circles and place into mini tart molds.

  • Press gently to fit.

4️⃣ Fill

  • Spoon almond cream into each shell (about 3/4 full).

  • Decorate with an almond on top if desired.

5️⃣ Bake

  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden.

6️⃣ Glaze (wedding finish)

  • Warm apricot jam or honey.

  • Brush tops while warm for a shiny look
