Quick Moroccan Croissants (Easy Homemade Version) 🥐

Ingredients:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp instant yeast

  • 1 egg

  • 250 ml warm milk

  • 60 g melted butter

  • 100 g soft butter (for quick layering)

  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for brushing)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

  2. Add the egg, warm milk, and melted butter.

  3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until you get a soft, smooth dough.

  4. Cover and let it rise for 45–60 minutes until doubled in size.

  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle.

  6. Spread the soft butter over the surface.

  7. Fold the dough into thirds (like a letter).

  8. Roll it out again and fold once more — this gives a quick laminated effect.

  9. Roll the dough to medium thickness.

  10. Cut into triangles.

  11. Roll each triangle from the base to the tip to form croissants.

  12. Place on a baking tray and let rise 30 minutes.

  13. Brush with egg yolk + milk.

  14. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes until golden.
